1. Komputer
Sebagai alat bantu dalam mengedit, dan memproses file yang akan di cetak ke mesin digital printer.
2. Digital Printer
Digital printer adalah sebuah mesin digital printing yang menggunakan metode percetakan dari gambar berbasis Digital, yang biasanya berupa file, kemudian bisa langsung dicetak di berbagai Media bahan dengan cara yang Instan dan Cepat.
3. Designer
Perancang grafis atau sering disebut dengan Desainer grafis (bahasa Inggris: Graphic Designer) adalah sebuah profesi yang menciptakan ilustrasi, tipografi, fotografi, atau grafis motion. perancang grafis bertugas untuk menyampaikan sebuah informasi yang diinginkan oleh klien ke dalam bentuk desain yang menarik. menurut (wikipedia).
4. Software Editing Grafis
Aplikasi untuk mendesain sebuah karya sehingga menghasilkan desain sesuai dengan apa yang diinginkan. Biasanya si Adobe Ilustrator, Adobe Photoshop dan lain-lain.
5. Software Ripping
Sebuah software yang berfungsi untuk menterjemahkan data-data mentah berformat .TIFF/.JPG/.PSD/.BMP menjadi data yang siap untuk diproduksi menjadi berformat .PRN (Print).
6. Software Printing
Gunakan aplikasi digital printer yang sesuai dengan printer yang di pakai, biasanya software ini sudah termasuk bawaan dari printernya.
Setelah semua komponen siap, sekarang masuk ke prosesnya hingga terciptanya output design berupa banner, brosur dll. Berikut tahapannya:
1. Tahap pertama kita harus punya desain terlebih dahulu dan jika belum punya maka harus membuat dulu desainnya menggunakan aplikasi pengolah grafis seperti yang saya sebutkan di atas.
2. Export file design menjadi type .TIF modenya CMYK dengan pengaturan DPI : 72 dan ukurannya gunakan ukuran yang sebenarnya. Disini saya memberi contoh untuk percetakan banner.
3. Setelah ada file .TIF nya maka tinggal kita msukkan dalam software RIP (maintop) untuk tahapan proses selanjutnya lalu export sehingga menjadi file .PRN biasanya.
4. Menggunakan aplikasi bawaan dari digital printer barulah mulai proses pencetakan banner menggunakan mesin Digital Printing.
Namun perlu di ketahui, Selain mesinnya yang canggih harus di bantu dengan perangkat lunak (software) yang baik juga agar hasil yang di peroleh maksimal sesuai apa yang di harapkan.
Ada banyak software yang digunakan dalam percetakan,salah satunya yaitu RIP Software. Berikut pemakaian rip software pada mesin large format printer dan laser printer:
1. Large format printer
